Place Cards and Favors - Starfish & Sand Dollar Theme

I just finished 2 wedding orders and one wholesale sample order today. They are all ready to ship/pick up. I'm so glad to have them done as I had a lot of things to do. Tomorrow I should have photos of another large stephanotis with pearls bouquet to share. What supposed to be a "slow" period for me has turned into a VERY BUSY time. Don't get me wrong it's a good thing. Just won't be going on a Legoland trip like we had hoped for our son's birthday.

At any rate, I finished Kerri's order today. I had her cymbidium orchid favors to finish and her place cards. She really wanted real starfish and sand dollar shells on her invitations but I told her that it would be more cost effective to go with an image and then try to do the real shells on the reception items. So for the place cards it made sense. I suggested we do the dark brown font versus purple since the tent fold is already purple and the dark brown would look nice with the shells and be much easier for people to read their names.
This is how those last items of her order turned out.

DK Designs Wedding Details - Place Cards, Table Numbers and Guest Book

Back in early September, Stacey contacted me and asked me if I could do her place cards, table numbers and guest book. She had seen my work via the Real Weddings - Mae & Jeremy feature on TheKnot.com. Her colors were very similar to Mae & Jeremy's except that her blue was more of a Caribbean blue. She sent me images of the bridesmaid dresses and asked that I true to get close to that color.

Her flowers are going to be a flame/mango orange calla and she liked the starfish place card idea. So we incorporated the two. She also had to figure out some way to incorporate the meal choice, so the hotel agreed that we could change the ribbon colors to signify which meal selection without making things too complicated.

This was a nice change of pace and I was able to complete it in one day. I've been doing so many flowers that doing a print job broke things up! However, it's back to more flowers today for my next bouquet order.

Congratulations and Best Wishes Stacey & Josh!

DK Designs Website - New Updates
I decided to work on my website again, update it, and get it current. It's still work in progress, but I've done the first round of updates (adding the Blog link to the navigation), updating my Deco Clay Craft Academy course calendar for Feb-Mar 2008) and added a few new pictures and information. The next step is to post new weddings and of course some of the newer designs (flowers and invitations/wedding details).
