They are all heirloom roses in 6 different colors (red, fuchsia pink, whitish ivory, creamy yellow, peach-pink, and coral peach). They range in size between 3.5-3.75 inches in diameter. So gorgeous! Perfect hair accessories for the bride, bridesmaids and just to wear for a special occasion!

Flowers for a Destination Wedding in Mexico

I just finished part of an order for one of my brides. She is getting married in Mexico towards the later part of this month. Her colors are beautiful hues of orange like a sunset. She asked for some hair flowers and corsages. Her order grew a few days ago to include favors, which I still have to work on.I wanted to share some of the flowers I worked on for her wedding. My absolute favorite that I made from the order is this dahlia! From a yellowy-orange to a deep coral, this is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. A slightly different style of dahlia as she wanted pointy tips to her petals. I couldn't replicate the real flower the way it looked in the picture, but I love how this flower turned out.
We did flowers in shades of orange dark to light.

For the mothers and grandmother she asked for white/ivory flowers with orange accents on pearl wristlets.I'll share the favor boxes when those are done, but thought I would post the photos that I took today of this order.

New Hair Flowers Listed....

It's been a long time coming, posting of new listings on Etsy. The year has been chaotic and busy with custom orders, teaching and being a mom. I haven't had time to create new things or list anything other than what previously sold. Please feel free to click on any of the pictures to take you to the actual listing of these beautiful hair flowers!Several days ago I worked on some new hydrangea hair flowers, some peachy pink, some with rhinestones, etc. I also had 2 hair flowers that I made a long time ago, but just never found the time to reshoot and post.I hope once I get through my August orders that I can focus more time on creating new pieces to offer in my Etsy shop!

Couture Clay - Rhinestone Anemone Hair Flower with Velvet Leaves

Last night I got my order of new rhinestones and I was anxious to create something new. This is one of my first designs using these really beautiful rhinestone buttons. Love the contrast between the light ivory petals and the subtle black sparkles on the fringe and the black vintage velvet leaves.
This is now available in my Etsy shop. Once it sells it will be a made-to-order item. It is a large flower measuring 4.5 inches petal to petal and with the leaves is 6 inches in diameter. I think this would look stunning with a low-do towards the nape of the neck. I hope to create more pieces soon, but I must focus yet again on my current orders.

Hair flowers for a Southern Wedding

My husband's nephew is getting married in May in Georgia and as part of our way of helping them out, I agreed to do their wedding invitations and some of their bridal party flowers. Tanya, our nephew's fiance wanted to have a lily of the valley headpiece for her hair and pink dogwoods for her bridesmaids.
Since her hair trial is coming up very soon, I had to get these pieces completed for her. I like how they came out. The lily of the valley headpiece is two combs which I think will be great after the wedding as it would be nice to have a small comb to wear for special occasions while not having to use a large piece. This definitely has more bling than my original design.
I have still yet to make Tanya's wedding bouquet, some cake flowers and corsages, but I will be sharing that with you in April.

New Hair Flowers....

I've been experimenting with feathers and rhinestones of late and I finished 3 hair flowers that I think will be a great addition to any bride's wedding day attire! For those who like a little bling, but something that's tasteful, this might be for you. I love the rich look of these 3 hair flowers that I just listed on my Etsy site.
I was working on some samples for a possible client and that's when I realized I had the making of a great addition to my hair accessory line. Feathers and rhinestone embellishments seem to be all the rage so why not add it to clay flowers?
Whether you like color or you want a more traditional color (white/ivory), these would be stunning statements in your hair. They would make for great hair flowers for every day wear or a special night out. More to come I'm sure as I get more time to create....
