Double Happiness Cake Topper

Recently a bride came to me with a last minute order and asked if I could make her a cake topper not of flowers, but of the Chinese character for double happiness. How hard could it be, right? I decided to blow up a couple images of the Chinese character to the size that I was going to trace. Then as I started I realized tracing wasn't going to work for me so I started to freehand it. Although the clay is relatively thick, I still needed wire supports throughout since it's 7 inches tall and 6 inches wide.

I'm hoping to get professional photos from the bride because I would love to see how this looks on a real wedding cake. :) Best Wishes to Jess and her fiance!

This is so cool! It almost looks like it's made of sugar, and will look perfect on a cake.
