Cherry Blossom Cake Flowers

A client recently contacted me and asked if I could create cherry blossom branches for her 3 tier cake. She had purchased a custom bird cake topper that she wanted a circle of cherry blossoms to surround the birds & base as well as branches to go up the sides of each tier. She asked me for a rough sketch and a quote.
She was very interested in having me create her cake flowers. Since my faux cake has only one position for the flowers to go in, I wasn't able to show you how it looks completed, but this gives you some ideas on what it could look like and other design ideas. I love how the branches make the cake 3 dimensional and adds lots of movement!
It's been a busy Easter weekend. No Easter egg hunts or brunch, my son got strep throat again so I was busy taking care of him and trying to get caught up on my work. Another year, my son didn't get to celebrate Easter with everyone. I think that's now 4 of 6 that he has missed out on!

Cherry Blossoms and Favor Boxes

I'm gearing up for the Ralston Hall Bridal Faire and I decided to create some favor boxes decorated with my clay flowers. Cherry blossoms came to mind and although the industry says pink and brown are out of style or not as popular, I think it's one of those color combinations that will be somewhat timeless.
Can you tell I'm ready for spring to be here? The cherry blossoms are already blooming in my neighborhood and it's not even March!

Cherry Blossoms and Crystals...
Cherry blossoms are another theme that continue to be popular among brides and they go great with those who want the pink/brown color palette! This particular client was very particular in what cherry blossom design she wanted, but we finally came up with a design that they liked. We decided to add some crystals to embellish the invitation and make it look a little richer.

We also added a wine/burgandy trim to the invitation because their bridal party will be wearing burgandy dresses.

They also had a lot they wanted in terms of information for their response card so instead of the traditional 3.5x5 response card we went with a 4x5 style which allowed them the space they needed! I also recreated the map we found off the Internet (that was my first one!) and I think it came out pretty well (not pictured here).
If you haven't been to my website since Sunday, you'll have to check it out. I've finally updated the Wedding Stationery, Real Weddings section and more! In the month to come I hope to have all my pages up-to-date!
