Rustic Themed Wedding....

During my first Etsy sale back during the holidays, a bride contacted me and asked if I could create her wedding flowers. She wanted my white and black anemones, white tulips, purple violets, lily of the valley, snowdrops, blue delphiniums, and forget me nots. She also wanted more of a rustic look so we went with a twine rope finish for the stems and boutonnieres.
I wasn't sure how the bouquet would turn out but I love the contrast between the otherwise monochromatic white flowers against the black in the anemones and the purple violets. I love the twine finish.
The boutonnieres were a bit different. She wanted more of a wildflower look so we went with the blue delphiniums, forget me nots, snowdrops and purple violets.
The bride wanted the corsages to mirror her bouquet, but didn't want the twine finish but rather white ribbon so I added loops of twine to tie the twine look in which I thought was a nice touch.
Wishing Melissa and her fiance a wonderful wedding day!

Gifts for Chinese New Year

One of my son's classmate's mom asked if I could create some arrangements to give to her mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law for Chinese New Year, but we agreed that something they could have all year long that would be beautiful yet have meaning made more sense. So since my friend likes pink, we went with a single pink peony bloom with a bud and leaves in a simple glass vase.

New Listings on Etsy...

I have been working on getting up some new items in my Etsy store now that things have slowed down a bit with weddings. This first piece is all gardenias in a lovely teal mercury style glass vase with greenery.

(Please feel free to click on the pictures, as they will take you to the actual listing in my Etsy store.)
This piece is one of my favorites. I had a couple of these mini teacups and saucers in a heart shape motif. I decided to make my popular heirloom roses in mini sizes. Love the English garden feel to this sweet little floral arrangement.
I love the look of single blooms in a glass vase. This one is a peachy pink heirloom rose with lush green leaves in a petite glass vase with faux water!
Vibrant pink anemones are sure to brighten your day nestled in a vase titled, "LOVE".
I'm getting back into making some new cake flower designs. Succulents seem to be very popular these days and I finally had a chance to make one!

More flower designs coming soon. Great for holiday gift giving or special occasions!

Winter inspired bouquet

A few months ago, a client asked me if I could create a bouquet of silver brunia, silver succulents, ivory ranunculus and Dusty Miller leaves. I was really excited about how this petite bridal bouquet turned out. It's the first time I'd made a bouquet with silver brunia!  I love the winter like feeling this bouquet exudes with all the silver and light green accents contrasted against the creamy ivory.
The bride loved the bouquet so much she asked me to create a matching succulent hair flower!

Lily of the Valley Plant

It's been a challenging week trying to manage all my orders and staying on schedule. I have been getting a lot of last minute requests to work on things and sometimes it's really hard to say "no". One of the projects I just finished is for a woman in Maui. Her mother is going to be leaving early next month to undergo a surgical procedure and subsequent therapy in Switzerland. Her favorite flowers growing up were lily of the valley. Carmen asked me to make a plant that her mom could have on her nightstand to help her through this journey.
This is the first time I actually did a lily of the valley "plant", but I was excited to do this because my late mother-in-law loved this flower growing up. I almost wanted to keep it because it turned out so cute! I definitely think I'll be making more of these soon when I get unburied from all my work.
