Another beautiful arrangement for the Garden Art Party

I haven't gotten much done today in the way of flowers because I had to teach for 4 hours. Teaching is always fun even though afterwards I feel completely exhausted. Probably because I'm not used to talking all the time and guiding people through the projects. Believe me it's easier to just sit and make flowers for 16 hours straight. LOL. I had a great time with my students today and had one of my newly certified instructors practice teach.
This morning before my class I arranged this particular floral design piece. I didn't have time to paint it until after my classes were finished and after my husband, son and I decorated the Christmas tree.I wasn't sure how this one would turn out because the purple hydrangeas were darker than I had envisioned. However after I finished painting and doing all the detail work, I have to say I'm quite pleased with the final result. I added branches instead of monkey tail ferns to make it a little lighter since the vase is very thick with flowers at the base. The green cymbidiums really help to make the whole arrangement pop! This will be one of the more expensive arrangements for sale, but it will give the people attending an idea of what is possible with the clay flowers. I don't do just small arrangements, but big ones too!

Looking forward to this week even though it will be busy with saying goodbye to my dearly departed grandmother on Tuesday and finishing up all the arrangements and starting a bridal bouquet order for my client getting married the day after Christmas. Lots to do so I better get back to the studio and start creating... :)

Garden Party with zenatona - New Additions

I'm pretty much done with my arrangements for the Garden Party with zenatona this Saturday. I had hoped to make more, but my creative energy has finally tapped out! Besides, whatever I make will not be dry enough by the time I get on the plane. These are the 12 arrangements that were done as of last night. I had completed these 2 below which was a small container full of gardenias. Who doesn't love a gardenia?
This one below is a sweet little arrangement of blush pink ranunculus and greenish ivory garden roses. So dainty and pretty.
I made a few pieces last night and today that I wanted to share. I figured I didn't have any fall like arrangements so I decided to do one just in time for Halloween and Thanksgiving. I'm still debating if this will be the giveaway piece that one lucky person will receive that day. It's the most expensive piece I created out of all the florals I made for the event. I love the richness of the mango callas, deep yellow roses and the burgundy roses, offset by the light peach colored ranunculus.
I'm very excited about this event and meeting some new people who Debbie has been telling all about my clay floral art. I'm planning to do a demonstration of how to make clay flowers as well so the attendees can get a feel for what I do. :)The above piece probably looks very familiar as I have done it a few times. This time however due to the fact that I will be traveling with some of these last pieces (the rest shipped today), I decided that branches might not be the way to go, so I opted this time for these whimsical greens that I thought added great lines and texture.This particular piece above, was a last minute creation. I had decided that I wanted to try something that inspired me from zenatona's piece, titled, "shine". Debbie captured a beautiful picture of a yellow lily and the colors were so rich and vibrant.
Finally, this one image in particular I love because it's my favorite colored rose, a two tone coral orange with pink! Just lovely. Well, flowers are drying and I'm just finishing up getting my things together and starting some work on some new orders so I better get back to the studio. I will have some great photos to share after my return this weekend! Whatever doesn't sell this Saturday will be posted on my Etsy site so who knows, maybe you'll be the lucky owner of one of these one of a kind creations! Sneak Peek at Some Items for the "Garden Party" Event!

Between my orders and teaching, I have been working on some pieces to show and sell at a special event coming up next weekend! I'll be flying out to San Diego to visit my dear friend Debbie Friedrich of Debbie Friedrich Photography and zenatona! She developed this great idea to have a little party for her friends, family and admirers of all things beautiful. Her premise - you've bought the perfect scented candle, you've pampered yourself with a facial makeover or pampered your inner chef... Now it's time to nurture your soul...

She thought of this great idea to showcase her giclee canvas art prints in her mother-in-law's garden where many of these images were taken. I don't want to spoil the surprise as we'll have photos to share after the event, but I am developing some pieces to not only decorate the garden, but also new pieces to sell! Here's a sneak peek! The above two glass orbs will be hanging as the guests enter the garden.This particular piece I love these vintage antique glass votives I found. I love aqua blues so I thought this would be an awesome arrangement. Reminds me of the beautiful ocean waters and the tropical flowers in Hawaii!I have had this vase forever. It was part of a Christmas kit that I had purchased from DECO about 6 or 7 years ago. I never got around to creating anything out of it and I finally brought it out and thought this was the perfect little vintage pink piece!

Well, I must get back to the studio and get some flowers done!
