Blush Pink and White Wedding

I finally finished a bouquet, boutonniere and corsage order for a client. It's been hectic juggling home life with work these days so this order seemed to take me forever to finish.

My client, Gretel is having a destination wedding in San Francisco in a couple of weeks. She had a bouquet she wanted me to model hers after. It was filled with blush pink peonies, light pink ranunculus, David Austin champagne ivory roses, white hydrangeas and white freesia.  She wanted a boutonniere, 2 pinned corsages and a peony hair flower as well. I love the subtle shades of pink, ivory and white in this bouquet. There are no fillers in this bouquet either so lots of freesia and hydrangea were needed to fill in the spaces.
We decided to do an ivory ranunculus with white freesia for her fiance.
The mother's of the bride and groom will be wearing a blush peony bud with pink ranunculus and white freesia corsages.
Gretel decided several weeks ago she also wanted to have a matching peony hair flower. The next order I'm working on has lots of anemones. Stay tuned for more on that...

Gardenia bouquet and a bit of sparkle

I worked on this order a while back, but just haven't found the time to blog about it. My client contacted me via Etsy and originally her order was for the gardenia bouquet that was listed on my site, but with the slight modification of adding some sparkle. She asked for my handwired rhinestone sprays that were in one of my gardenia hair flower listings.
Part way through the process, she decided she also wanted to gift her mother and grandmother with some special flowers. She decided on a single peony bouquet with handwired pearls and seed beads in the center for her mother and a shrub rose corsage pin with a rhinestone center and vintage leaves.
There is something very beautiful yet simple about all white or all ivory flowers.

Bird of Paradise Themed Wedding

I've been busy working on one bride's order which has taken a little while to complete with all the elements. Jenn had asked me back in May to create her bird of paradise themed wedding invitations and favors. I almost turned down the order based on my workload at the time but she made it hard for me to say "no".
So in addition to her invitations and favors, I am also working on her guest book, reserved seating signs and program fans. I still have yet to complete the guest book but wanted to share the lovely images of the favors, program fans and reserved cards.
Making 60 bird of paradise was very time consuming with the various elements and painting. I'm quite happy with the results.
The program fans I haven't done in a long time, but they are always a nice touch at a wedding, especially one that is outdoors in Mau'i where it can be quite hot.

Jenn also wanted a few reserved signs for her sweetheart table and the 2 bridal party tables. I'm excited to almost be finished with this order and send it on its way.  I have more projects to share, but for now, I need to focus on the 4 other orders I have to complete in the next 2 weeks.

Stunning Red and White Bouquet for a Military Couple

One of my brides had originally ordered a bouquet for herself, her bridesmaids and boutonnieres for the guys, however, her fiance is in the military and his orders got pulled in for deployment so instead of a larger October wedding, they were having a small wedding with their families this coming month.
Shannon wanted vivid red poppies to honor the veterans as they both come from a long line of military. We agreed on vivid red poppies, red ranunculus, hipericum berries and gardenias. I love how dramatic this bouquet looks.

My best wishes to Shannon and her fiance and we thank you for your service!

Etsy Love - Featured Artist & Vintage Inspired Shoot in the Summer/Fall Eco-Beautiful Weddings E-Zine!

I wanted to share with you a featured article in the Summer/Fall 2012 Issue of Eco-Beautiful Weddings E-Zine that launched today. I'm so fortunate to be able to work with such talented local professionals who were kind enough to ask me to be part of this Vintage inspired bridal shoot that emphasizes eco-friendly and recycled and upcycled pieces. Katie had asked me to be part of her inaugural issue and asked me if I would like to be part of their Etsy Love feature article this time around.
You HAVE TO read this issue, so much WONDERFUL eye candy, the latest in eco-friendly picks from accessories to make up and dresses from their staff, beautiful real wedding images and stories. Their bridal shoot with handpainted backdrops by Kristy Rice are just AMAZING! Katie always manages to bring together the best of the best when her team produces these lovely E-zines!
Thank you to Joli de Jackie (MUA/Hair), Vivian Sachs Photography, Monika Ka (Model), Viet Mac (Cinematographer), Karla Randolph (Printed Details), Monica Hernandez (Stylist), Songi Gi (Bridal Gowns) for creating the magic for this fun shoot. Links to each of their websites are in the magazine on pages 44-47. I'll definitely be sharing more photos from this shoot once I get a chance to breathe from catching up on my summer orders.
Thank you most of all to Katie Martin and her team at Eco-Beautiful Weddings!

Lily of the Valley Plants....

I've been busy making over 200 lily of the valley blossoms the last couple of days. My sister-in-law saw the original one I did for a client and asked me if I could make her one so she could look at it and always remember her mom, as this was her favorite flower and grew up with these in their garden.
Since I was making some for her, I decided it would be cute to make one for my son's teacher as an end of the year gift. Granted the class as a whole is giving her some special gifts but I also wanted to gift her with this lily of the valley plant nestled in a wooden stump style vase. The base needed something so I though this cute little chick I made would be a cute addition. Just makes you smile.
A few more orders to tackle and I'm officially on vacation! I CANNOT WAIT! :)

White and Black Bouquet for a Southern Wedding....

My dear friend Amy is getting married! Mind you I have never personally met Amy, but we have become friends over the last few years thanks to Spirit Jump and Facebook. She and her family have gone through A LOT with regards to their health and while I don't want to go into all the details, I have to say this, Amy and her kids have a heart of gold and have so much faith and strength. They always rise above.
Amy is getting married to her high school friend, Geoff. This will be their second marriage and they both have kids - almost like the Brady Bunch 6 kids, ranging in ages of 7 to 22! Since I have known her, I have never seen her as happy as she is right now.

She asked me to create her wedding invitations and her bridal bouquet. Amy never had an official wedding the first time so Geoff is giving her the wedding of her dreams but on a smaller scale. She wanted a white, black and silver color palette. She was worried that a white & black bouquet would not look stunning. Granted, I've only made a white and black bouquet once prior, but it was simpler. I suggested anemones, gardenias (being that they are getting married in Georgia and it adds a bit of Southern charm), stephanotis with rhinestones, lilac, lily of the valley, English roses and sweet peas. I also added black velvet vintage leaves and a silvery vintage leaf vine to accent the colors she wanted.
I decided to add subtle but natural hints of color with light greens, yellows and a very blush pink/champagne. The bouquet is wrapped with black satin ribbon and had a beautiful rhinestone buckle.

 Congratulations to Amy and Geoff!
